Essentially we want to pay for the best version of the recording- and it may not be the master or encoded to DSD.

The cost of the digital gear should be proportional* to amount paid in the "Best" digital recordings. The MCD1100 and D150 constitute "Among the best" in digital audio equipment.

IF there was only a listing that had votes to the subjective recording quality along with the technical details of the recording.. but that's for another thread.

It would be awesome to have a HIRES Music Consumer Reports Type Website 'Amazon style' where folks are able to submit subjective reviews abut also read about the technical details.

The Dynamic Range Database comes close to what we describe. No commentary there, but there is a tool to allow us to upload to our techical details about our music files.
