Seiko's new GPS enable watch.
The Seiko Astron features an onboard GPS radio that automatically syncronizes the watch to the correct time and date no matter where you travel in the world. Seiko has been able to create a watch that can receive GPS signals and identify time zone, time and date data using the global network of GPS satellites. It recognizes all the 39 time zones on earth. In addition, it has a matrix of seven solar cells that keep its lithium-ion battery charged, so no battery replacement is needed. There are three Seiko Astron models in high-intensity titanium, and two in stainless steel. All have ceramic bezels, the same functions and high specifications, including a dual time sub-dial, in-flight mode indicator and sapphire crystal with Super-Clear Coating, a proprietary newly-developed anti-reflective coating, applied on both the front and back of the glass. It prevents 99% of light reflection and allows the dial to be easily legible, even in bright light. From $2300.00

Seiko builds some fine timepieces Their release of the Spring Dive in 2005 was tops for that year in the world of horology. I think most people have no clue as to Seiko's build range.

I've got a Seiko too, it's the 'gosh that looks like a baby Rolex but for some crucial cosmetic changes to keep the patent lawyers at bay' model. It's got 'Captains voice' time changer, i.e when the pilot tells me over the tannoy that we have passed the timezone.
Still, horologists have to start somewhere and I'm pleased with it. |

I have a couple Seiko Kinetic watches that I like. Both are still providing me with excellent service. I wear the Titanium Sports 100 with day/date as my daily driver. Now 12 years old and still keeping perfect time.
