I gotta tell ya, though, that review in Stereophile was mighty impressive. You should see the measurements that JA took. I've never a seen square wave reproduced like that before.

One interesting design implementation is that Herve used two transformers, one for the power supply and another one for the input stage.

The interesting thing is that they are positioned at 90 degrees to one another to cancel out any inductive field effects of one interacting on another. This of course, knocks the noise floor way down.

Herve Delatraz reminds me of another design genius, Caelin Gabriel of Shunyata. Both guys are brilliant with their designs based on a deep understanding of scientific and engineering principles.

I left my magazine at work and did not have time to read it. Darn. I have to say my little 108 does a great job. I would love the hear the big daddy.

You are right Stephen, those mono blocks do look and measure impressively. I do question, however, that price tag.

Just my .02s...

I guess the price tag is related to the amount of money which sleeps in the swiss banks....

+1.

As much as I like the dart, I think that they went a bit overboard with the price of 458 monos.

From what I know, the cheaper Dart monos are on the drawing board though.

Now that is great news. My Dartzeel 108 is amazing. I can only imagine a little more powerful monoblock from Herve. Wow!
