Default Recording Analog/Digital Music Thread

When I was a younger enthusiast I used to record music from my LP's onto cassette and then listen to the music off of the tape. It was convenient, sounded sometimes better then the original LP. I would also record music off the radio and play it in the car. Digitial MP3 players and ipods have become the way I listen to music on the go and in the car. While copying cd's is a piece of cake, I still have Lp's that I would like to put on my ipod and it would be nice to record off the sonos ie rhapsody as well. Hooking the computer to the pre amp and recording into garage band and then exporting to itunes is a pain in the neck because you have to export each song individually. This to me is where the MS300/750 shines. Any other ideas welcome.

I have a extra zp-90 hooked up to my lap top and I am doing a experiment to see how the recording sounds using garage band with the input on the computer set to 24/96 recorded lossless. While I expect this may be adequate for the ipod in the car, it will not likely fly in the home system.

Here is a TT that has a USB port on it - they are many out there, and there are applications to clean up any pops from the record and copy the music to CD.

You might want to experiment with this. It is free.

The reason I have been using garage band is that it will allow you to record 24/96 and then export to itunes very easilly. If you leave the room when you record each album you have to cut, label and export each song manually which is a little time consuming. The end result is very good. The only other issue is my computer cable is too short to reach my tape monitor on my pre amp .
