I have this one.
I like it.
In 5.0 it is quite special.

Here's the same principals on an album (LP, SACD) recorded by Dave Wilson and issued by Wilson Audio. Several years before he began making speakers, DW recorded 33 albums, 27 of which were issued to the public starting in the mid-1980's. These frequently made Harry Pearson's recommended recordings list. Including, I believe, your rejected Center Stage also from Wilson which was originally released in 1988 as an LP.

I'm guessing you have a digital reissue - they are in the process of being re-released on disc and vinyl. (The album picture is not displaying for me.)

Winds of War and Peace includes Commando March from Samuel Barber, Liberty Fanfare - a piece composed for the 100 yr celebration of the Statue of Liberty, the opening soundtrack for Victory at Sea and four others.

Whatever you think of the music, the sonics are excellent.

Center Stage includes John Williams' Olympic Fanfare, music from Mary Poppins and West Side Story and others.

Art is both universal and individual.

I found the presentation to be in my face, a style I do not prefer and seldom come upon against in classical.

Notice my follow up post where I was comforted by my next spin "Rutter: Visions; Requiem."

So my statement was not spoken to any musical universality but rather to a personal preference.

It's kind of an anomaly, Wilson speakers I have long heralded as the best I have ever heard and when I listened to this album I immediately recognized that Wilson sound. Yet, as I posted, I had to abandon play before it's completion.

I firmly believe that there is good music and there is great music, there is no bad music, so I meant nothing disparaging.

To be honest, I don't see much need of this but since I am a Glass devote...

Play is fine but I prefer an artists choose of Etudes, as Lavinia Meijer did on her last years release or Víkingur Ólafsson did also last year, coupled with other works that makes an emotional statement.
