In my room the soundstage is very good but not as deep as when the speakers are further out.
But the bass suffers a lot when the speakers are further out. So I have them positioned in a spot where the bass is outstanding and the soundstage is still very good. There is no one spot in my room where I can have outstanding bass and soundstage. But I have no complaints. Life is full of compromises.
