Hello,

Reviving this older thread because I’m interested in potentially moving up to the Sopra line from the Kanta No1s that I have now.
The question is, can I move from the Kanta 1 to the Sopra 1 and realize a better midrange sound, or would this move me a more lateral move without much to gain?

I currently pair the Kantas with 3 JL Audio E110 subs because this room does double duties for both 2ch and home theater. I would do the same with the Sopras.
I really like the idea of staying with a smaller bookshelf design for this room, which is why I’m attempting to avoid another set of floor standing speakers like the Kanta 2 or Sopra 2.

Would love to hear from others who use the Sopra 1 or went from the Kanta 1 to another Focal speaker, and why.

Thank you!

I auditioned both at my local stereo shop and as much as I LOVED the Sopra's, I couldn't;t afford them. So I went with the Kanta 2's and I must say that I am very happy....they are not only beautiful, but my music comes alive like never before. These are keepers (until I can afford the Sopras, that is).

I have a chance to pick up some pre-owned Sopra 1 speakers. My listening room is rather small at 9 ft by 12 ft. For various reasons I must put the speakers against the 12 ft wall. I can only allow about one foot space between the speaker cabinet and the rear wall. With that I have about 6 and 1/2 ft from the speaker drivers to my ears. Does anyone know if this speaker will be a good fit for my room? Right now I'm using front slot ported Usher Dancer Mini-X DMD with good results, but like everyone always looking to upgrade when the opportunity arises. Thanks in advance
