Default MBL DAC 1611F Vs Any recommendation

i am using MBL 1621A transport with Bricasti M1 and SIM 650D. Now recently listed to Gryphon Kalliope DAC twice on two different place feed with Redbook CD through Esoteric k01x and k03x respectfully. Also experienced Aurender N100 streamer in one place. i just Blown away with its analog presentation and i got admit, Kalliope show me how to enjoy soft copy/ digital music.

Now i am planning to UPGRADE, should i go for MBL 1611F or Kalliope? since till now beside the MBL speaker nothing dissapoints me. in my MBL reference rig the best component is MBL6010D, i got the maximum thrust after acquire it. please note i built my rid by purchasing component one by one. here is the brief description, started with one MBL 9007

MBL 9007 stereo
MBL1621A
Bricasti M1
MBL 5011
MBL 9007 mono
SIM Moon 650D
Siltech Prince (speaker cable)
Sim 820S
MBL 9008A mono (upgraded from MBL 9007 MONO)
Purchased full loom of Siltech (golden eagle 2 75, queen XLR and RCA, Ruby Hill 2, Ruby Mountain 2 for power amp)
MBL 6010D

polkaudio tsi 400 > polk audio TSI 500 > Dynaudio Contour s5.4 > Paradigm ref studio 100 V5 (NOW) > Gryphon Pantheon ( order placed )

I have listened to a lot of digital, but I have not listened to the MBL that you mention.
However I have spent a lot of time with the Kalliope and it is my favourite above any DCS,Meridian,MSB,Ayre,CH Precision or Ypsilon.
It is so easy to listen to for long periods of time and it's resolution has not been surpassed in my opinion. Like all good components it gets better with time and after 3 months it went up another notch again.
There is a good review I just saw today on Positive Feedback's website.
By the way you will love the Pantheons.

Kalliope perhaps provide better resolution than MBL. And also DCS Vivaldi V2.0 is better in this terms than Kalliope .
But the most analog feel will be MBL DAC .
Musicality almost on par between them .

DCS Vivaldi a very bit less musical compare to Kalliope & MBL , but much better in other terms . Tweaking a little bit for DCS will improve musicality / PRAT .

My audio epiphany was the full MBL set-up with the xTremes and the source being the 1611F. I still haven't heard a better set-up but that doesn't mean the latest digital units couldn't improve the sound. If I had a all MBL set-up I would probably go with the 1611F even if there might be better alternatives out there.

Dear jim,

thanks for your kind views. yes you pointed out my main logic that all MBL should be preferable, agreed.

there are few things which bothers me on this ALL MBL scenario. one i don't like MBL speaker presentation comparing with direct firing speaker (i love big speaker, wilson Maxx3 with all Gryphon setup blew my mind, here one big brother has it, my dream speaker is wilson ALEXX)

secondly MBL love and recommends Wireworld cables which i can't tolerate. thirdly their DAC is not something new, its a quite old design, its not magical like pre, power amp. i am using Bricasti M1 for long time now send it to factory for se version upgrade with media player option. i find it hard to compare with my newly acquired Sim 650D(with SIM 820S).

i heard MBL 1611f but i really didn't enjoyed it, much. yup on all mbl system on two different time on MBL reference line... i don't know why. BUT both place MBL omini speakers were used. may be the speaker is the reason, i don't know.

my question is why MBL1611f didn't blown me away like Kalliope? or other equipments of MBL when i first listened to. why very few people owning MBL1611F, in contrast i saw MBL1621A transport is very famous, you can find many high end rig has MBL 1621A.

dear canton, i don't want to spend twice this time, Gryphon Kalliope is really something different, but i want to over sure if i am not missing something. i wish Rossini has a better transport. its hard to consider dcs when you see esoteric or accuphase transport, sad.

Dear down under,

yes i am really enjoying Pantheon its crazy speaker.i brought this speaker without listening, just based on my love of Gryphon, the music tone is very dominant on all of their products. its very fun loving speaker, its making me live differently. the high point of this speaker is superbly projected sweet voice. really good speaker, not bright at all.

interestingly, i have seen MBL 9008A driving the superb less efficient MBL 101E mk2 and still amps heat sing run cold not even warm, but with pantheon my MBL9008A mono got hot, these Pantheon needs power to drive. and the main problem with Pantheon is, its provoke you to listen loud to louder, always. and its addictive. i am lucky that i am not living in an apartment.

yes Kalliope is very hard to skip, i just thinking, as i have MBL 1621A transport, should i go for MBL 1611F matching dac. i already have two dac Bricasti m1 and Sim 650D. i like m1 always. but after listening to Kalliope, it just distracting my peace.

tc brother, thanks for your comment.

I'm really glad you like the Pantheon.
It would be hard not to.
Just be aware that they have a very long run in time.
Mine are still continuing to improve after 4 months of frequent use and they had over 100 hours on them when purchased.
You will find the depth perspective, bass and treble will improve after a couple of months quite significantly.
They sound great with the Antileon EVO amplifier..........
Nice to hear of your progress.
Keep us all posted.
