Congratulations Pweg!

You have a great time in front of you, prepare yourself for the highest level of musicality and Fidelity. Mine Coltrane 3's are now six months old and it is still a jaw dropping experience listening and comparing them to the Tad E1's they replaced. Of course they should outperform them for three times the money but in my opinion they easily run around the R1's too. Earlier I haven't been a big fan of the Coltrane's (too anemic) but now it is a much more accomplished loudspeaker.

These are wonderful speakers. I heard them at AXPONA 2016 with CAT electronics - very musical.

Don't worry at all about unpacking, installing and moving them, they are on wheels in the flightcases. Just tilt the flightcases up, roll them out and then sit back and enjoy. I promise you don't even need a helping hand.

@pweg, when you get a chance, can you talk about the differences in sound between the Coltrane 3 and the Coltrane Tenor's you had before?

I am thinking of these two particular speakers and you are probably the perfect person to talk about them! The Coltrane 3 would be too big for my room, so I am heavily leaning towards either the Coltrane Tenor or the new Martin Mingus Quintet.

The Coltrane 3 and Mingus Quintet are using ALL Accuton Cell Concept drivers and First Order Crossovers. The Tenor uses a second order crossover. I currently own Bird 2 which also use the same second order crossover.

Your thoughts would be extremely valuable as a user

AND CONGRATS! I absolute love Marten speakers and simply have not heard better for my listening tastes and sensibilities. Cheers!

happy to compare the tenors to the 3's. Have been told they are departing sweden early next week.

I'm actually very interested to see if i can hear an audible difference in the types of crossovers the 2 speakers use.
