i recently got this info from an XM jock and was kinda surprised..
it's Bluegrass

If true, that wouldn't surprise me too much, bluegrass is pretty popular here in the south, there are all kinds of local and regional bands that would fit in that genre. I guess it depends on what they consider the "most active". Not sure what that means exactly. Most requests perhaps?

With so many young people streaming music, I find it very hard to believe that classical or bluegrass would be number one.

On the reference music site AudioAficionado, the separate genre threads indicate this:

Classical: 23,747 posts
Jazz: 11,608 posts
Rock: 785 posts
Blues: 729 posts
World: 186 posts

This means classical is by far the most popular genre there, followed by jazz.
The rest is just peanuts compared to these 2 genres.

(I'm just having a little fun too )
