TAD Reference One Speakers

I heard these when they first came out a few years ago. They are incredible speakers for their size and a worthy addition to ay setup imho. Definitely one of the best stand mounted speakers in the world. You will not go wrong with TAD.

I almost bought it. The only thing I don't like is the colour. That darkish reddish wood is very Japanese high end and they love the colour but I prefer a lighter coloured speaker. The new Tannoy has the same reddish wood but they told me I could get a lighter version specially made if I ever took up the offer.

TAD and Atma-sphere electronics's room sounded excellent. Perfect sized speaker for the room, great imaging and soundstaging, great tonality and balance top to bottom. Only thing making it not perfect was the lack of the lowest octaves, but due to the room size, probably worked in it's favor.

The big ones at RMAF were my best sound at show. The little ones are just too much dough for what they do and what you get. If you want something other than another sonus and yet want it to be exotic, and killer - look at the brand new Rockport Avior. Less $$ than the little tad, and truly full range as well - plus - not every Tom, Dick and Harry owns them.

The dealer in Singapore carries both Rockport & MBL. I will stay with MBL though the Rockport's are very fine speakers.
