Why Krell Amplifiers are out from Stereophile Recommended lists?
Hello
I look at the Stereophile recommended components power Amps (both for 2012 and 2013). It's very surprising for me , that non of Krell models had mention, among the two-channel Amplifiers. Is there any explanation for this odd fact? I apologize in advance, if this topic has been discussed here before Thanks. |

Have they even reviewed any of the newer products? Only products they have reviewed make the list.

Nonsense. Disproven by data many times.
Also, it always surprises me how often questions about why Stereophile does (or does not do) something are posted on forums like this one rather than on Stereophile's own forum where the editor will likely respond with an answer, rather than with speculation. In this case, Apexorca's speculation, that it is due to there being few Krell reviews lately, is probably true. Last edited by Kal Rubinson; 06-30-2013 at 09:33 AM. |

Right now, I appreciate that this forum (or topic) was important enough to you (and Stereophile) that it requires a rectifying response. |

Thanks for the nice offer, Robert, but I live far away in Israel
Anyway. I rather purchase a new unite, with five years warranty , installation and full support from the local dealer... |

Actually, I am here for the same reasons as most: information and entertainment.

The latest Krell Evolution series amps are much improved over the older FBP series. It's too bad Krell isn't being recognized by Stereophile and TAS. The 402E has received great reviews from a couple of British reviewers.

They have not tested Evo amps for a while. 2012 they liked Krell Cipher cd very much, but it's a bit strange that not the 402 och 402e is tested.
Read this from the Evo-series amp test: "The Krell Evolution 202 preamplifier and Evolution 600 monoblocks are superb bits of kit." and "They may be the best-engineered components I've ever experienced—and I thought I'd had some experience in that arena." "By Wes Phillips • Posted: Dec 17, 2006" So it's probably not that they don´t like them. If I'm not wrong, I can be, please correct me if that is the case, but wasn't it a little dispute between Stereophile and Krell some years ago?
