A member here listened to Magico A3s with both the Constellation Inspiration and D'Agostino preamp/monoblocks at the Expona and thought the Inspiration was better.

That’s great. I have A3s right now, so that sounds really good. I have M3s on the way though. A Constellation Amp is something to think about.

Likely 'different' being that the A3 was designed to be a fairly easy to drive speaker and the M3 was designed without regard to being easy to drive (like most speakers at the M3 price-point).

Yes. I was referring to a Constellation amp not the integrated. I am receiving an EMM Pre amp, so have no need for an integrated. But I was interested in PCs eval of the Constellation as it would give me an fair idea in their reg amps.

Here's my suggestion. Just get the Constellation amps; both the Centaur and Hercules are amazing.

Yup....I'd believe that.

Many thanks. It will be a while, but I’ll definitely look into this.

Does anyone remember the Constellation/Rockport room at the 2018 RMAF. It was on the ground floor.

Granted there was serious kit in that room, but the sound that pairing made had the hair on my neck standing up.

If this IA comes anywhere near the same zip code as that experience I'd tell your friend "sorry, but the amp was stolen when I was away..."

Yep, I get that.

I'm getting more and more hours in the Inspiration integrated. In fact, today I started an Excel worksheet to track the exact number of hours of burn-in/run-in it's getting.

I figure it's got about 15 hours on it at the moment. I had to disconnect it for a spell while I finished up the C-J ART 150 review for submission to TAS. I've been listening to it since yesterday, and just loving it.

Well, I've been running the Constellation Inspiration integrated amp continually except for occasional power-down intervals to help form the caps. I'll have 150 hours on it by tomorrow (I'm tracking the hours in a spreadsheet).

With about 10X the no. of hours on it from my last post, it has really opened up more and more, and is much more spacious, from side to side, top to bottom, and front to back. It's also become more notably more open, refined, with improvements in resolution, detail, tonal weight and density, and textural refinement. The more hours it gets, the better it sounds. I am REALLY impressed with this integrated.

The night before last, I put it onto HRS Nimbus spacers and couplers, and woot! Notably improved articulation, finer resolution of layering, and microdetail. The music became more "fully present" in the room. NOT subtle.

Same level of improvement (dejá vu, all over again?) when I put the Holo May KTE DAC on it's own set of HRS Nimbus spacers and couplers. The Holo May KTE is getting, better, too, BTW.

That HRS stuff of Mike's really works.
