Will provide updates and impressions once they arrive. These will be an upgrade from Shunyata Black Mamba’s and Anacondas that I have been using for years.

Question: I have a set of B&K Precision 1621A power supplies that power the field coils on my Classic Audio T1.5 speakers. I am using regular power cords but have the urge to upgrade those if it is a viable thing to do. And if so, what Shunyata power cords would be good for those power supplies?

Link here: https://www.bkprecision.com/products...er-supply.html

Thanks in advance.
Given the B&K's do the conversion to DC to power your field coils, I'm thinking something along the lines of the Venom NRv10 might be a good bet for the power supplies.

Dear Gabriel, (or whoever may comment)

I've been a long time enthusiast and happy adopter of Shunyata PCs.
Although using a PS Audio 10, I also plan to evaluate an Everest probably next year. Eventually keep both.
I have been upgrading slowly my several PCs, as the budget allows me. Would you be kind to advise me which should be the next upgrade step? so as confirm if my current layout is the most adequate in order to get the most of my ( different grade and models) Shunyata loom?

Default What is the best place to get the most from the Venom 12 NR

Thanks Masterlu

Indeed I really like this forum, find it very informative, in a deep and polite way.
I find Puma Cat, Gabriel Caelin, so as many other members, pros or just audiophiles, really helpful in a friendly way rare to others pages I also follow.

Perhaps someone coud give me a tip.
I am, step by step, upgrading my Shunyata pc loom.
I already got an Alpha NR v2 that alocate to my CD/DAC Wadia S7i, one that Puma Cat knows well from their more old reviews, and ordered a Venom 12 NR that I would like some advice where it may better applied?
on the Hypsos/Nucleus Roon that is coming from the PS10?
or to feed the LPS/TT Bergman that is currently coming from a separate wall mains outlet?

- PS10 Conditioner - Sigma NR
- ARC Ref6 Pre - Sigma NR
- ARC Ref3 Phono - Python CXA
- ARC GS150 Amp - Alpha HC
- Wadia Si7 DAC/CD - Alpha NR v2 ( the newest)
- LPS Hypsos / Nucleus Roon - Alpha Digital
- LPS / Bergman Turntable - Absolute Power15 Furutech (the only not yet Shunyata

Hi RRbiero,
Given your current set of Shunyata cables, I think you've got the right cables on the component for the most part, but I think by swapping some cables around, you may get optimal performance.

Here's what I would try if I had your components and cables:

- PS10 Conditioner - Sigma NR
- ARC Ref6 Pre - Alpha NR v2 ( the newest)
- ARC Ref3 Phono - Python CXA
- ARC GS150 Amp - Sigma NR
- Wadia Si7 DAC/CD - Alpha Digital
- LPS Hypsos / Nucleus Roon - Venom NR v12
- LPS / Bergman Turntable - Alpha HC

Try these and see if you think this setup works better.

If you have the budget in the future, I'd recommend a getting Shunyata Sigma XC for your PS10 (later put it on your Everest when you get it). Then, I'd put the Sigma NR that was on he PS10 on the Ref 6 pre, and the Alpha NRv2 on the Wadia.

If down the road, you want to upgrade the PCs on the Ref 3 Phono and LPS/Bergman turntable, I'd suggest the Delta NRv2 and Venom NRv10 on these, respectively.

Really thankful for your wise advise Puma Cat.
Indeed I also thought next step should be a Sigma XC (NR v2 technology...) for the Conditioner (either PSA 10 or Everest). And I think I understand and agree with your aparent rationale putting the more recent Shunyata on the most important pieces, like conditioner (being the first on the line), the Pre, and the Power. Am I right?

Unfortunaly, I forgot to mention that both pres and power from ARC, have a C19 connector so as the cables that currently feed them. Even so, I will try to follow your optimised proposed layout, through an SR adapter for the (not so critical) LPS on the TT, and the not so easy to solve Alpha NR v2 for the Ref6 Pre...
Would it be worth to get an SR adapter C15->19 in order to put the Alpha NR v2 on the Pre Ref6?

- PS10 Conditioner (C15) - Sigma NR (C15)
- ARC Ref6 Pre (C19) - Alpha NR v2 (C15) *** Problem, adapter C15->19?? ***
- ARC GS150 Amp (C19) - Sigma NR (C19)
- Wadia Si7 DAC/CD (C15) - Alpha Digital (C15)
- Nucleus Roon / LPS Hypsos (C15) - Venom NR v12 (C15)
- ARC Ref3 Phono (C19) - Python CXA (C19)
- LPS / Bergman Turntable - Alpha HC (C19) / through adapter 19->15

The adapter would work. A better solution would be to contact Shunyata and see if they would re-terminate the Alpha NR v2 to C19 for you.

The XC power cords not have the noise reduction technology; they are designed to pass maximal current to the power distributor (which has it's own built-in noise reduction).

The Shunyata noise reduction power cords were specifically designed for components. This technology is specifically designed to keep the noise from the components' own internal power supply from escaping into the rest of the power distribution chain and adding noise to other components, most importantly, lower level source components e.g. DACs, phono stages, etc.

A quote from an article by Caelin:
"A primary source of audible sonic degradation is caused by the power supplies in our audio/video components. Most components use FWBR (full wave bridge rectifier) power supplies that generate an incredible amount of transient noise when the rectifiers switch off. The design of a power cable can significantly affect the reactance of these signals within the power supply. The power cable is effectively part of the primary winding of the power transformer. The transition between the various metals used in a power cable and its connectors can cause electromagnetic reflections and diode-like rectification of the noise impulses as they propagate away from the power supply. If the power cable presents a high impedance to these signals they will be reflected back into the power supply where they will intermodulate, thus increasing the high frequency noise levels of the component. Most power supply filters are ineffective at blocking very high frequency noise components and much of it is passed through to the DC rails. The sonic effects of this include: high background noise levels, blurred or slurred transients and a general lack of clarity and purity of the sound or visual image.”
