Stephen,
I went and ordered the SFP's you mentioned and optical cables.
I also ordered another Zyxel switch that has dual SFP connectivity to test it out in place of my Cisco.
The Lumin X1 is on the way, will arrive early next week.
Lets see what I can produce and if no go, I will call you.
