Art, I bought them because I like the way they sound, not because of DBT. Not necessarily better sounding than 800 D2's. It resulted in more money in my pocket and my wife prefers the aesthetics, and I'm really fond of both (my wife and the money)!
I'm really just rolling speakers for the experience of it. I've never had a bad thought or bad thing to say about B&W D2's. If I find I prefer the B&W's after living with the Ultima 2's, I'll buy D3's. It's a hobby, I'm just playing.
It will be interesting to hear what my Mark Levinson 536's do with these Salon 2's, I pray to God they have enough 'nads. I think I'll try Audioslave "Show Me How to Live" and Metallica "Cyanide" as a test.
