Also, is the driver being held up solely by the horn, or is there a support bracket towards the back?
enelson14.....I'm sorry I took so long to respond. I do have a drawing that I made of the mounting plate, but I would caution it is quite specific to this particular horn, and the actual hole locations for my particular L220's for the mounting of the old midrange assembly. And even then, you'll note I ended up machining a small amount off the bottoms of the plate for everything to line up just right.

As to your question on supporting the horns, there is no support bracket in the back. They are pretty much supported by the 4 screws in the front. However, I did take advantage of the existing lower spacer bar to provide additional support across the lower portion of the horn mounting flange.

This portion of my original post discusses this:

I re-used the original wooden spacers. The lower spacer also serves as a clamping support at the bottom of the horn mounting flange. These Horns are quite heavy!!

I can assure that, in this way, the horn mounting is absolutely rock solid.

Another thing to watch is, I've seen two differing versions of the 1217-1290 Horn, one is actually 1" longer (deeper) than the other! I used the "shorter" version, with the front mounting flange. This one inch can mean the difference between getting the back on, or not getting the back on.
Even so, I still had to re-make the back plate, moving the L-Pads up enough to be able to mount the rear cover plate on flush.

I hope this is of some help.....if you need more information, let me know.

I would strongly encourage you to become a subscriber to AA, so we can communicate via PM, as well as many other benefits.

I think this link will take you to the correct page:
