Yes. More and more ranges are using electronic scoring for high-power matches. As the less expensive set-ups are around $750/target there are many ranges, my home range included, where individual members purchase their own gear. Often, two or three members will share the cost and shoot on the same target during competition. Quick and easy and accurate and no one needs to pull the target to mark it after each shot. As a black powder cartridge competitor these less expensive systems, which work off of sound (think of the auto-focus on a camera for the technology), don't work for our sub-sonic bullets. So, we still have to pull the target and mark after each shot.

Some of the larger national ranges, like the CMP range in Alabama have a more sophisticated electronic system, but at $3000/target, they are few and far between.

There are also self-contained camera systems that are similar to the GoPro camera, which are popular. The biggest drawback to all these systems is the fact that they occasionally get hit by a bullet, which doesn't do them any good. One of the camera makers offers free repair/replacement for same, though I've forgotten the name. I'm asking Santa for a GoPro for Xmas.

For those who do no know what the targets look like, here is a picture of my home range (Cumberland Riflemen, Millvile, NJ) 'target pit'. The 6'x6' target is a 1x4 wood frame with a 1" styrofoam backer to which the target is stapled. Everything is counter-balanced so the effort to move the target up or down is minimal. The targets shown are 200yd on the carriers & 600yd leaning against the front wall.
