Indeed, the series is very, very, very far removed from the book and does not qualify as an adaptation. However, the plot was captivating and the spirit of PKD is felt in the background. I enjoyed it as a human drama playing out in a PKD universe, especially during the last season when “The Fates” catch up to the characters and the unbearable lightness of being comes crashing down on them shattering any notion of control over destiny...very PKD style existential stuff..too bad for the tone deaf ending.
