Bridging an amplifier always results in compromise, IMO. The distortion goes up while the ability to handle low impedance loads goes down, so I see it as a course of last resort.

The one exception is the Mac MC275. That amp is unusual because running it in mono doesn't really bridge the amplifier, but runs it in parallel.
