Example - The reason Japan did not try to invade the US had nothing to do with guns here. You cannot invade a country when you cannot supply your own troops. There was no place to stage for an attack on the US. All of Japan's troops were tied up in China and SE Asia. Once their Navy took the hit at Midway any plans to attack Australia and New Zealand were gone. Looks how long it took for the Allies to invade France. And that was only possible with Germany tied up with the Russia on the east. Why do you think Stalin was so pissed at the US and England, he needed the second front to take Hitler's pressure off him.
