I have heard the e1 on various occasions. Generally I have not been impressed but of course I am spoiled by the cr1s every day so it's not really fair on the e1
. The sound is a bit softer than the ref speakers and I miss some resolution in the midrange. I think it would work well with more forward amps and will be much more forgiving of upstream electronics.
