The Axiom M3s started my obsession with audio. Paired with an Antique Sound Labs MG Si 15dt, 5 wpc, SET amp (2 Golden Lion KT88s and a pair of Telefunken 12ax7s, an Ah! Njoe Tjoeb tube output CD player, a wee Velodyne 10" subwoofer and some Mapleshade Double Golden Helix cryo speaker cables, Maple Audio interconnects, it sounded wonderful. I sold my Infinity Composition Overture IIIs and never looked back. The room was great ... and the music, a wall of sound.
I gave my old M3s away years ago. My main system is now driven by a pair of BAT VK56 mono blocks, a VK 33 preamp (upgraded with Amperex Bugle Boy 6922s), with Nordost Frey2 speaker cables, Nordost interconnects, Mogami XLRs, Feikert Woodpecker tt with a Koetsu Black Gold Line cart, EAR 88pb phono stage, Marantz SA10 SACD player, Django L speakers. Sounds great.
But, I still look back at that little Axiom M3 system, and recall the audio joy I experienced way back when.
