Ivan has already shown that the HS-Link cable is not wired the same as a standard CAT cable. The green info sheet posted above has a "caution" section warning against using HS-Link cable anywhere else as equipment damage can occur.
So putting those two facts together, it should be clear that the HS-LINK is wired differently and nothing but that "kind" of a cable with the same pinout should be used in its place. If others make a specific HS-Link cable, then it should be fine but if something happens... I am sure that will not be covered by warranty.
Why risk a $25k device over a silly cable?
