Let's see I've owned MCS, Denon, Yamaha, NAD, McIntosh and Moon for receivers and amps.
So I'll state of the brands I've had serious listening time:
1. Audio Research - I like the sound; however, my budget and fear of tubes leaves me as an admirer.
2. Moon wonderful gear and often excellent value for money.
3. McIntosh - I replaced my McIntosh gear with Moon because I think its an upgrade AND McIntosh was excellent and rekindled my music enjoyment. Resale value is a great reminder on how good music sounds on McIntosh. Is there a McIntosh sound sure but if you are going to have a 'sound' its not a bad one to have!
