I would say there were significant changes in DP-950. It moved to a new higher precision platform with superior electronics. It also can play DSD discs as if they were SACD and introduced HS-Link Ver 2 which amongst other things, separates the master clock and music signal for lower jitter.
In a recent back to back comparison with DP-900 at my place, the DP-950 advantages were immediately noticeable . It has a more commanding portrayal of the music with superior dynamics, bass and resolution.
If the DP-1000 can move the goal posts by the same margins again, that will be a truly awesome machine and it will also have the capability of playing DSD and Hirez PCM from DVD-R. This means that you can play almost any music file at the highest quality without compromising it through a computer or streamer.
