I use Audirvana on my 2019 MacBook Pro using a Chord Mojo via USB with Focal Clear Headphones. I tried Roon on the laptop and it sounded good but a little bit bright but I do love the Roon interface. The Qobuz app also sounds fine. Then I tried Audirvana and to me with my setup it sounded much more natural and with a touch more warmth. So for me Audirvana on the MacBook won. Just for fun I then took the Mojo upstairs and connected it to the USB out on my Aurender N100H and that was much better than anything on the MacBook ... better detail with no brightness, better harmonic richness, more air so eventually I'll likely upgrade the N100H to the newer N20 and take the N100H to the office to use with my headphone setup.
Just my 2c and not worth a penny more!
