Hey everyone -- this is my first posting on AA. I suppose I'm not the first to say that AA could well stand for Audio Addicts or Audioholics Anonymous, correct? Since I'm not allowed to start a new thread until I've posted ten times I thought I'd tag onto this thread and ask:

Where's the love for Furutech products around here? Yes, it's clear that the Flux 50 is very popular and the GTX-D (R) NCF Duplex Receptacle gets mentioned pretty regularly, but Furutech in general doesn't seem to receive the respect it deserves as best as I can tell. I haven't been able to peruse that many threads as of yet, but that is my impression so far.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking of setting up power conditioning using Furutech products prior to the (possible) addition of either an AQ Niagara 1200 or a PS Audio Stellar PowerPlant 3 (SP3). One of the latter two would be added later. If anyone would like to give me some feedback on this general appraoch I would appreciate it. Combining prior line conditioning with a regenerator or a more sophisticated power conditioner like the 1200 further up the chain is not a new idea. The Furutech products I'm considering right now are:

--GTX-D (R) NCF Duplex Receptacle+ outlet cover
--Furutech power cable: either Absolute 15 Plus or Evolution II
--Flux 50 Line filter
--Power Conditioner/Distributor: either e-TP609 NCF or GTO-D2 or D3 R NCF Power Distributor
--Power cables from the conditioner/distributor to source components could be the Venom 14s or the Analysis Plus Oval 10s and/or the Rega Reference Mains AC pc to my Rega Elicit-R amp.

What is the difference between a (Furutech TP609) power conditioner and a (GTO D2) power distributor?

Would it make sense to eliminate the TP609 if I ended up adding the 1200 or the SP3?

I have a mid-priced ($7-8K) 2-channel system:

--Rega Apollo-R cdp>Denafrips Ares II DAC>Rega Ellicit-R amp>Graham Audio LS6 speakers/
>Monoprice Liquid Platinum HP amp (HPs: Audeze LCD3 pre-fazor; HFM HEXv2; MassDrop HD6xx; HFM Sundara)

--Transparent Audio 75 ohm digital coax cable, cdp>dac;
--Transparent Audio MusicLink Plus MM2 IC, dac>Rega Elicit-R;
--Chord Clearway cable, amp>HP amp
--Power cables are currently all stock equipment
--I will soon be upgrading my main IC and speaker cables to DNM (http://www.dnm.co.uk/cablesdetail.html)

What am I overlooking? What is redundant? My wife and I listen to pre-classical baroque, renaissance, medieval, sacred choral, world music and occasional rock at low to moderate volumes. I have no idea what the quality of AC is in the house (built in 1991) that's located in downtown Santa Fe. We have no electrical issues that I am aware of, except for a circuit breaker once in a blue moon in the kitchen.

I have no access to the 'guts' (cables, etc.) of my system, wholly located in a very heavy wooden cabinet that I am unable to move by myself. I have an audio tech come over every so often to swap out equipment when I want to do upgrades. These upgrades are done in tandem to save on service fees so I often don't have a way to properly test/compare/evaluate the impact of any particular component or cable. So I just take my best shot and deal with it! Not very audiophilic of me, I know -- but that's a big reason why I'm here, to get exposed to as much helpful information as I can. So far the changes I've made have worked out pretty well. I won't reach audio nirvana this way, but I hope to keep improving SQ nevertheless.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom and experience you can offer!
