45shooter, I believe other than you saying you have not heard Wilson's you are not accurate. Wilsons are among the most popular high end speakers. Quote from Stereophile Mike Fremer September 2003 his review of the Watt/Puppy 7: "Wilson's website claims that the WATT/Puppy is the best-selling over-$10,000 loudspeaker in history. I have no way of verifying that claim, nor can I figure out how Wilson can make it—privately held companies are under no obligation to reveal sales figures. But any speaker that's been in constant production in one iteration or another for more than 17 years, as the WATT/Puppy has, must have impressive stats, "best-selling" or otherwise. Somebody besides recording engineers must love them."

Many thousands of these speakers have been sold. Wilson is IMO the most popular of all high end audio speakers.

Here's what Wilson Audio has to say concerning the Watt/Puppy 5: "The addition of the Puppy 5 woofer system added dynamic heft to the already startling transparency of the WATT 5. Harmonic integrity was improved and bass extension dropped cleanly below 30Hz. Considered one of the very finest music and video speaker systems available for critical home application, the WATT / Puppy 5 system was also the most universal reference tool for high end audio designers."

I believe you said you were looking for a rock and roll speaker. It is well known that Wilson's have a jump factor, an ability to go from medium to loud to deafening without strain or fatigue. You amp will give out long before the Wilson

4K may be out of your price range but that's 2K per speaker. The other good thing about Wilsons is that you can send the speaker back to the factory for reconditioning. None of these speakers will come close to matching a Watt/Puppy 5's dynamic range and sound quality, IMO. Many thousands of these speakers remain in use.

Best
