And even if it is ok such frequencies to come to the tweeter the sound produced is far away from normal. With music it feels like some distorted echo, which is not apparent for every ear and not very easy to describe, but with the proper test track it is right in the nose.
Anyway the ball is back to B&W tech.

It sounds as though you have a partially detached voice coil, and very likely you've had excessive hf energy or hf oscillation from the amplifier that damaged the tweeter. Chances are it happened when the other tweeter blew.
Fwiw, the most common mode of failure for diamond dome tweeters seems to be mechanical - shattering, which has been addressed with the D3 models, and other failures due to thermal stress or QC issues are quite rare.
It would be wise to get the power amp checked out to make sure it's working to spec and unconditionally stable.
