The attack on us and the 20 years of follow-on response conjures up a wide array of emotions.
I can certainly understand how recent decisions and actions with respect to our withdrawal will cause many of us to question what the purpose was as so many of our people gave their lives or have been permanently injured physically and emotionally in the name of our country.
I remember that day 20 years ago as if it was yesterday. I will never forget it.
My daughter is in NYC today - hopefully, she will go to the site and pay her respects to those who perished 20 years ago.
