Yes, I already have a NAS that I store my music files on.
The D100 does have a USB input and I used that for some time, about 5 years IIRC, and the RPI died.
The RPI only had a USB output which meant I needed to download a set of USB drivers from McIntosh to use the USB connection with the RPI and Roon in play. I'd like to avoid repeating that particular configuration by finding something that has an optical out.
The optical input on the D100 will process PCM files up to 24/192 which is just fine with me.
