2016 Mount Peak "Rattlesnake" Zinfandel was the hit of the evening (making my 74th b'day painless ) at Peter Shields, our favorite BYOB on the ocean in Cape May. 2nd was a 2017 Marsannay Pinot Noir followed by a 2015 Le Diable Rhone. We had a 2005 Volnay-Santenots and a 2005 St. Emilion, which were both notable for their lack of distinction. Drinkable, but neither worth repeating. The Cremant D'Alsace was very pleasing and the Presecco drinkable. To cap off the evening, a vintage 2011 Dow's Port, which was also excellent. If you are into good reds, the Rattlesnake Zin is very much worthy of your $$. I let it breathe all day before dinner.

Here we are three days later. When I ask my wife how she likes the Cab our daughter gave her for the 12-days of Xmas her reply is that 'normally' it would be good, but the Rattlesnake Zin spoiled her for a while.
