My disease is advanced enough that that's like one component now lol. I just bought a VAC Master preamp for about that. Tube gear "not so much on a budget" these days sounds amazing; always money well spent
If I got another $25K to blow on audio today - I could try to upgrade to the Statement-level above my current 200iQ tube amps, but would probably take a bit more than $25 plus sale of current amps, and I'd have to downsize from monoblocks to just a stereo amp. SO that money might as well go into a fund to eventually build an "audio barn" dedicated listening room. Trying to find a GREAT room for audio in residential homes is demoralizing. I want concrete slab underneath, golden ratio room dimensions, 10-foot ceiling, no support posts in the way, good physical security / restricted access, etc.
