[emoji41]actually I meant where in the house. If in a basement room then that may be his problem. Cleeds is correct of course, my bad - it's NEC that applies, and I think NEC only requires GFCI on countertops near sinks, in bathrooms, and in unfinished basements or grade-level areas.
