Many thanks to Analog Addict for confirming my 5AR4 was DOA. The eBay seller has agreed to refund, so basically no harm done.
I finally got the next tube type on my list to test—the Gold Lion KT77 (New production). It does look pretty and at first blush, I seem to get both power/dynamics as well as transparency. Does anyone know the break-in time for this new production tube?
