Sorry but this is a modified pair of Acoustat 1+1s ( 1984 ) i would put them up against ANY Martin Logan except the CLX because they are six times the price but i will put the Spectra 8800s against them any time i heard both and SORRY the CLX.s don't even come close, the Spectra 8800s where made with a pair of Spectra 6600s and a pair of 1+1s, the Martin Logan CLX,s coul not match the Spectra 6600s without subs and now the Spectra 8800s also have 2 JL,s F-112 Fanthom subwoofers, that's another beast completely i am not a subwoofer kind of guy BUT i must admit when well matched IT'S BETTER.
