After looking at the Japanese MSRP, I agree with you.
The Esoteric A-03 retails for 900K Yen. Esoteric America sells it for 14K USD in 2010 (was 12K in 2009). The K-01 retails for 1,400K Yen. After doing the math, this comes to 21.8K USD. So, around 22K, just like you said.
