When I worked for a living I always insured that we purchased Milwaukee tools as they are "professional grade". Worth the cost to insure no loss of time due to equipment failure.

As the retired home hobbiest, I'm good with 18v or 24v DeWalt or any of the mass-market brands. Recently built two 4'x8' three level shelves out of 2x4s & 5/8" plywood and the DeWalt gear still running as good as new. I spend my money on quality blades & bits to make the work go well.
