I'm still trying to figure out the best way to drive my The Sonus faber with bi-amping configuration.
I'v been curious about different cables from Krell fpb 400cx to The Sonus faber "deep low" (under 80Hz) Is i possible to here a different in these isolated low frequencies?
Since I have a pair of Nordost Valhalla and Synergistic Research Resolution Reference X-Serie with electric shield to compare it's possible to try this out.
The first thing to notice is that the big positive difference is to use bi-amping.
It is much better then just a pair of monoblock Krell fpb350mc. They are connected with Nordost Odin.
Synergistic has got more power in the deep low but lack a bit of refinement and control.
Valhalla has got more control, better timing and faster transients. More resolved as well. I'v got a lot of power in my system as it is and do not need more. So for me, I go for Nordost Valhalla in the lower frequencies.
It is very easy to tell the difference. I think most people could hear this.
Synergistic Research Resolution Reference X-Serie connected to deep low.
Nordost Valhalla connected to deep low.
Conclusion: Nordost Valhalla gets the honor.
