For some reason I don't have pictures of my actual Cary CAD-211AE amp, but I DO have pictures of the internals!



Rear of chassis.



Front of chassis, with the horizontally mounted cats eye tube. As you can see, it won't be an easy proposition to replace that tube when it wears out.

Note the burnt out resistor at the 9 o'clock position on the bottom 845 tube socket (i.e. the big white round socket in the second picture). I smelt the magic smoke coming out of the amp and quickly turned it off, but it was too late. Lesson learnt: don't attempt to mount tubes when you've had too much to drink. You might cause a short circuit and blow up your amp! Cost of repair: $100. Thank God!!

Those of you who haven't yet opened up your amps to look inside will be reassured that it uses quality parts.
