I do have a few of the single layer SACD's. I was an early adopter. But I recorded the dual layer ones too. The idea is that SACD sounds better than CD because a sampling rate of 2.8 MHz sounds better than 44.1 KHz. My reasoning is that a high rez copy (24/96KHz) of a DSD analogue stream should sound better than the 44.1 CD, which I believe it does. Another question is, maybe it isn't really all that noticeable or worth the trouble. Even though I can hear the difference between 44.1 and 96KHz it is not a big difference. I do not buy new SACD's to copy to the hard drive, but I wanted to get the very best sound in to the computer as possible from my existing inventory of SACD's.
