Indeed.
With things like the 454, 450 & 500 out there the 44Mag is considered pretty tame these days. These monster rounds spit so much flame, noise & concussion that I don't like being near them when someone is shooting. I always go to the far bench when one shows up. At least I know that they will be finished after about 10, or so, rounds. 
We had to ban the club member that was shooting his 338 Lapua Mag with a brake from shooting under the cover at 600yd range (no magnums with brakes). No one else could shoot due to the concussion. He has to shoot from the outside bench and then it is still loud and concussive.
