Tomorrow, I might take the mighty 5th Gen Honda VFR800 out. 800cc 90 deg V-4 with 360 degree crank in perfect primary balance, gear driven cams with shim-under bucket valve actuation, fuel injection, a $1500 Öhlins shock adjustable for spring preload, rebound and compression damping, and cartridge forks with their shim stacks revalved for my weight. Makes 100 hp onto the ground at the rear tire. For a fully-laden bike that weighs ~500 lbs, this is a power-to-weight ratio of a 2500 lb sports car with...500 BHP at the rear tires. Will easily do 155 mph and do it...all day long, as this engine was directly derived from HRC's endurance racing program engine for their RVF endurance racing bikes, where Honda won multiple 24 HRS of Le Man, Bol D'Or 24, and 8 Hours of Suzuka endurance races, plus many IoM Tourist Trophy races.

Wonderful machine. My nephew just sold his '94 VFR750F with 100K+ trouble-free miles on the clock (what can one say........... its a Honda). Have always enjoyed visiting him in order to go for a spin on it.
