Thanks cgn-dt-n for the compliment on the room, their sonic impact has surpassed my expectations. I also didn’t find the Fivre’s shouty after 50 hours (initially yes)—they really blossomed after break-in and I really enjoyed them with the Mazda 5y3 rectifier. I still like the Visseaux a touch better but in order to make an apples to apples comparison, I will need to re-insert the Visseaux GT with the 5Y3 (I only listened to it with either the 5U4 or the Sophia Electric 274b). Matter of fact, I’ve not tried either the Pope or Visseaux GT tubes with a 5Y3 rectifier, since they also work with a 5U4/274B.

Update: I was very curious about the Ferranti 807 tubes. First set was faulty so eBay seller sent me a new pair, so I just inserted them 2 hours ago. First impressions are really really good. A lot more power is evident from the get go but are they more musical than the 6V6 is hard to determine until I spend more time with them. I also changed the rectifier back to my Sophia 274b.
