You can also just google the "album artist - album name" (without quotes) and go to images, find a good, large pic, and save it to the album folder in question as folder.jpg. Then from JRiver to go the album and right click on it, Cover Art->Quick Find in File/Cover Art Directory.
As far as other unplayable file types, you'd have to be a bit more specific.
