Shunyata really did a great job in thinking this through with the design of the Altaira CGC-system of base cables and tails. So, if you need RJ45 Ethernet, BNC, USB, XLR, etc. you can simply order the base cable of the specification you require, and then the appropriate tail. And, if your needs or application changes, and you need a different termination, e.g. changing from S/DIF RCA to BNC, all you need to do is order a different tail. Also, if you decide at some point you want to go up in specification, you can order a higher-spec base cable or tail rather than having to buy an entirely new cable.
