hmmm...for those who like the sound, though, maybe this presents a marketing opportunity for Transparent to offer an interconnect with a tiny replaceable filter cartridge that they claim will capture 99.8% of pollutants. They could suggest users replace the cartridge every six months for optimal performance and to ensure downstream electronics don't build up pollutant residue.

ooh....and if the amp manufacturer were to claim risk of not just pollution, but infection, then they could offer an antibiotic/antimicrobial filter (at three times the cost, of course). 'Captures cross-brand pollutants AND kills germs!'

Dealers would suggest filtered interconnects whenever a customer is mixing brands in their system as the perfect high-margin up-sell item.
