My Walkabout go to lens is my Canon 24-105 f/4 L -- love the image stabilization -- if the new 24-70 f/2.8 Mark II had IS, I would grab a copy.
For routine portrait and other tele use, my go to lens is the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L Mark II.
