What I'm confused about is whether Perseverance can analyze samples on board or whether they have to be picked up and returned to earth for that to happen.
Part of the mission is to put samples into sterile containers for a future mission to retrieve and send home.
I'm getting a bit long in the tooth. Hope I'm still around to see the results of that endeavor.
